Step by step instructions
  • Select the courses you would like to attend (max. 7 courses per semester). Click on "Next" at the bottom right (after all courses).
  • Enter the required personal data (as we receive funding, we need this for the required anonymized statistics). You can find more information on this in our privacy policy.
  • Enter your e-mail address to create an account.
  • Either assign a password or request a login code by e-mail each time you log in.
  • Agree to the terms of use.
Please note: By registering, you agree that all universities participating in the ICS RM can view your registration data.
  • You will receive confirmation by e-mail and will be informed whether you have been allocated a place directly or are on the waiting list.
  • Once you have registered, you can manage your participation in your profile and unsubscribe if you are unable to attend.
Important: Be sure to unsubscribe via the link in the email if you are unable to attend! This way, other students on the waiting list can take your place. Thank you!

You can find further information on registering and deregistering for events in our FAQ.

Questions & answers about the events

I cannot attend the full workshop. What do I do now?

Participation in an event only makes sense for you if you are present for at least 75% of the event. If you cannot guarantee this, please cancel your participation in good time (at least 3 days in advance). We ask that you arrive on time on the day of the event so that the event can start as planned. In addition, your entitlement to a place will be forfeited if you arrive late. We speak of "attendance" when attendance and active participation are guaranteed.

Is my event registration binding?

Yes, your registration is binding. With your registration, we assume that you will keep the event date free and will be present digitally or on site on the day of the event. This also applies in the event that you are currently on the waiting list. If you are unable to attend an event, you are obliged to cancel your registration at least 3 days before the start of the event. For more information on deregistration, please continue reading here: How do I deregister from events?

I have registered for an event but have not received a confirmation email. What now?
Our experience shows that one of the following three problems is usually the source: The registration confirmation and notification emails are in the spam folder of your email inbox. You have not finalized the registration, i.e. after clicking on "Register" you have to confirm the data again ("Submit"). If both problems can be ruled out, you may have entered an incorrect e-mail address when registering. In this case, please send us a short email to info@ics-rm.de.
How do I unsubscribe from events?

You will find links to your personal event bookings in all emails from us. You can unsubscribe in your profile up to three days before the start of the event. After the end of the deregistration period, you can only deregister by sending us an email (info@ics-rm.de). There must then be a valid reason (e.g. illness) for the deregistration.

The 3-day deadline for deregistration has expired. How can I deregister now?

In principle, you are obliged to cancel your registration up to three days before the start of the event. In an emergency, please send us an e-mail (info@ics-rm.de) stating the workshop (title and event date!) and your name so that we can cancel your registration. We will then allocate your place to someone on the waiting list.

I am registered for an event but cannot attend at short notice (work/illness). What to do?

Please send us an e-mail (info@ics-rm.de) as soon as possible stating the workshop (title and event date!), the reason for your absence and your name so that we can process your cancellation.

I have deregistered from a workshop by e-mail to ICS RM after the deregistration deadline. Why don't I receive a confirmation e-mail about my deregistration?
We receive a lot of unsubscribe emails from students. We will note your unsubscribe email and you will not be placed on the blacklist. Please understand that we do not respond to every unsubscribe email individually.
I am on the waiting list for an event. Do I still have to cancel if I don't have time?
Yes, please cancel your registration, even if you are at the back of the waiting list. The waiting list is an instrument to enable interested latecomers to participate in the workshop. Our experience shows that many cancellations are received, especially in the last week before the start of the event. Accordingly, it is often possible to move up from a place at the back of the waiting list. Even if you move up, you are subject to the blocking procedure, i.e. if you subsequently slip into an event but do not show up, we will block you from the event program for one semester.
I received an unsubscribe email for all events, but did not unsubscribe at all. What is the reason?
You have probably been banned because you were absent from a workshop without excuse. If you cannot understand the reason for the suspension, please send us a short email(info@ics-rm.de).
Why is there a blacklist?

Essentially, the blacklist exists for two reasons: We want to ensure fairness and make the best use of our resources.

If students do not show up for courses - despite having registered - people on the waiting list no longer have the opportunity to join the course. Particularly in view of the fact that there are often many people on the waiting list for a course, we consider unexcused absences to be highly antisocial towards other students.

It is also unfair for the speakers if they have to spontaneously adapt their workshop concept, which includes group work, for example, to a much smaller group than planned.

Our events can be attended by students free of charge. However, we do incur expenses, as we pay the speakers' fees. In the case of collaborations with companies, there are often additional costs for catering. We therefore strive to achieve the best possible utilization of our workshops.

A majority of students behave very thoughtfully and understand why we use a suspension procedure. We sincerely hope that you understand as well.

Do I receive a certificate of attendance for my participation in a workshop?

The certificates are usually sent to the participants by e-mail in PDF format within one to two weeks after the event. If you have the impression that this has been forgotten, please send us an e-mail (info@ics-rm.de). Please note that in order to receive a certificate of attendance, you must demonstrate at least 75 percent attendance and active participation. Furthermore, we can only issue a certificate to participants whose names we can assign to the registration list. Therefore, please take part in the event with your real name.

Do I receive credit points (CPs) for my participation in a workshop?

Unfortunately, we cannot answer this question. Every university and every department has different regulations regarding the recognition of our courses. A competent contact for these questions is your responsible examination office. You will receive a certificate from us stating the topic of the course and the time period. You can use this to contact your examination office (or recognition officer). Please note that a CP usually requires a workload of 30 hours, but our workshops are mostly short formats. Only designated courses (e.g. our elective modules) are so extensive that they are suitable for recognition in terms of workload.

The course instructor promised me a presentation by mail. Why is it not sent to me?

Due to the large number of workshops in our program, there may be delays in sending out presentations. We ask for your patience. In some cases, we are also not aware of the arrangements between the course leader and participants. If you have the impression that the transmission of the presentation has been forgotten, please send us an e-mail (info@ics-rm.de). We will then get in touch with the speakers.

In a workshop, I noticed things that I found particularly good or bad. Who can I contact if I want to describe my impressions?

Your feedback is very important to us and we will treat your concerns confidentially! Praise and criticism are an important tool for us to improve our offer. That's why we send out a link to our evaluation page and a code with every workshop. You are welcome to use this to give us your feedback. If you would also like to share your experiences with us, please contact the International Career Service team at info@ics-rm.de.
