In today's world of work, digital, technological and transformative skills are not only key elements for the professional development of individuals, but also decisive factors for corporate competitiveness. Each semester, we organize 10 specialized workshops in this area. These events aim to address current trends and technologies, provide practical guidance and create a platform for professional exchange. for professional exchange. Digital competencies

02.&03.11.2023: Effective Data Visualization & Storytelling - Hands-on Workshop with Excel, 16:00-19:30

In recent years, digitalization and technological progress have provided us with the means to collect, store and analyse huge amounts of data. But data is useless if no insights can be gained from it. By visualizing data, we can bring the hidden in the data to life.

That is why data visualization is also called the "language of data".

Data visualization can be used to explore data (exploratory data analysis) or to explain data (explanatory data analysis). Data storytelling is assigned to the explanatory part and helps to present and communicate the complex and communicate the complex results of the exploratory analysis in a simple and easily understandable way. 09.&10.11.2023: Introduction to Agile Working with Kanban, Scrum & co., 10:00-17:00

Everyone is talking about agility. But who knows what is really behind this term and which methods are behind agile project management?

The workshop offers students the opportunity to experience for themselves what it feels like to work in an agile way and the objectives and challenges involved in using agile methods. In simulations, they will get to know methods such as Scrum, Kanban and Design Thinking and reflect on them.

Digital project management tools make projects more productive and effective. 11 & 12.01.2024: Digital Marketing

We will look at how you can optimize your content for search engines so that it appears on page one on Google. Speaker: Sarah Stein has been responsible for search engine optimization at SWR as Head of Search Experience since November 2020. She is deputy head of the Audience Development department. Sarah Stein has worked as an editor at SWR in Mainz since 2016. She studied political science, German studies, Italian literature and social media management in Milan, Trier and Cologne. studied. Technological competencies 

Technological competencies go one step further and refer to specific knowledge of advanced technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence, machine learning). 23.11.2023: Introduction to Computer Programming Language (English), 10.00 AM-5.00 PM

There are many programming languages such as Java, Python, C ++, C #, Php, SQL etc. These languages are often based on the same principles, but use different syntax. Learning to code requires understanding these principles and the basic structures of the language - variables, data types, operators, etc. Using practical examples, this course helps to overcome the first programming hurdles and provides an overview of some programming languages.

11/30 & 12/01/2023 Introduction to AI and Prompt Tools, 4:00pm-1:30pm.

In this two-part workshop, we explore the history and forward-looking possibilities of generative AI models.

You will get to know the variety of AI approaches: from GANs to diffusion models such as DALL-E 2, but also large language models of the GPT series. You will learn how a well-designed prompt can deliver precise and nuanced results. results. 18.01.2024: How products with good usability & user experience are created, 10:00-17:00 hrs.

Speaker: Susane Dittes: Graduate communication designer has been working as a user experience expert at Hessischer Rundfunk since 2019. She supports teams and editorial teams in all aspects of human-centered design human-centered design - be it research, vision/strategy, ideation or testing. 16. & 17.11.2023: Visualization & Facilitation Techniques, 10:00-17:00

Participants learn about the possibilities for moderating online events. Special attention is paid to the visual support of the moderation. They learn how to visualize simple symbols with just a few strokes and to combine them into metaphors that carry through a moderation.

In addition to concrete skills and knowledge based on examples and exercises, participants also learn what aspects make for successful facilitation.

Together, these aspects give participants the opportunity to apply what they have learned directly at the next opportunity and at the same time to further develop their own skills through targeted trial and error in practice.

Speaker: Thorsten Ohler. He has been working as a chart flipper in the field of presentation, moderation and visualization since 2013.
