Frequently Asked Questions

What criteria are used to select employers?

Employers should be based in Rhein-Main and be open to hiring international students and students with a migrant background. This means, for example, that native-level German language skills are not required for all available positions.

What information must employers provide?

All companies independently post job listings on the Matching Portal, specifying the required field of study, work experience, IT skills, language proficiency, and soft skills. They also create a company profile that includes information about their products and services, as well as their corporate culture and benefits.

How does the pitch take place?

The pitch will take place during a live Zoom meeting, meaning it will not be pre-recorded. Each company will have 5 minutes to introduce itself and the job openings it is offering.

Please focus your presentation on the specific value your company offers to students, what makes you particularly attractive as an employer, and why qualified students should specifically choose to apply to your company.

Following the pitches, students will have the opportunity to ask additional questions in breakout rooms.

How does the applicant selection process work?

Company representatives receive an overview of all applicants through our custom-developed matching software. Each application is matched against the respective job posting in the categories of technical fit, role fit, practical experience, language skills, and soft skills, and a matching score is calculated based on this. This score can serve as an initial guide, but ultimately, company representatives decide whether to invite applicants for an interview.

Will a platform be provided for the digital discussions?

No, we do not provide a platform for these meetings, as each company uses—or is permitted to use—different software. Companies are responsible for creating meeting links and uploading them to the Matching Portal.

Have the dates for the one-on-one meetings been set?

Yes, each position is assigned to a department and, therefore, to a specific date. The interviews must take place on the respective date, but companies are free to choose the times and duration of the interviews.

The following seminars are planned:

Economics: Tuesday, November 10

Engineering: Wednesday, November 11

Computer Science & Natural Sciences: Thursday, November 12

Other disciplines (as needed): Friday, November 13
