A working group of the ICS RM round table is addressing the issue of sustainable integration in Rhein-Main. This also includes the topic of housing, which is why the working group discussed the opportunities for employee housing with regard to international graduates. The FAZ picked up on this idea and also reported on the topic.

Publications and initiatives of the ICS RM
International students enrich German universities. They are multilingual, multicultural and highly motivated, and many also bring professional experience from their home country. When it comes to the transition to the job market , they can do almost anything - except speak perfect German.

When it comes to securing skilled workers, housing is becoming an increasingly relevant location factor. Many employers are therefore reviving the model of employee housing. A working group from our round table has compiled key information and best practices from Hesse in this recommendation paper on housing for employees
When international students' visas expire temporarily, they often receive a provisional certificate until the immigration authorities have decided on the extension of their visa.
With this provisional certificate, the previous residence permit is considered to remain valid. This also applies to the right to work associated with the residence permit.

Recommendations for universities
International students represent a steadily growing group at German universities. However, their transition into the German job market sometimes hampered by a lack of language skills. In a recommendation paper, the ICS RM therefore advises colleges and universities to incorporate language acquisition courses into the curriculum of English-language degree programs.
