About us

Why we exist

Working together for students

with an international or intercultural background

The International Career Service Rhein-Main (ICS RM) is an initiative of the five leading universities in the Rhein-Main for equal access to the job market and start-ups. We universities support a rapidly growing number of migrant students during their studies in their career development and in building networks.

A total of around 25,000 international students and a further 25,000 German students with a history of migration - collectively referred to as students with an international or intercultural background - are enrolled at our university. For many of them, the lack of networks, insufficient insight into the German job market and corporate cultures as well as existing legal barriers make it difficult to find their way into academic positions or self-employment. Although many are highly qualified and committed and would like to stay in Germany after graduation.

For equal opportunities in the transition to the job market and start-up ecosystem, thanks to funding from the European Union and the State of Hesse.
What we do

Win-win for Internationals and our Rhein-Main economic region

With a differentiated range of services from counselling, events and mentoring on the topics of career entry, future work, entrepreneurship and networking, we want to compensate for the initial disadvantages of students with an international or intercultural background. Keeping qualified budding talent in our region is a win-win situation for all of us. This, however, requires a strong support structure. We therefore use our interface role in business and public administration to raise awareness and open the working world and the start-up ecosystem to the needs of diverse specialists.
