Our goal: to bring international students and graduates together with companies
Pooling resources and creating synergies
Promotion of career development
Around 50,000 international students and migrants study at universities and universities of applied sciences in the Rhein-Main area. The majority of them aspire to gain a foothold on the German job market market after graduation. The prospect of excellent career opportunities is often the main motivation for studying in Germany. However, despite their outstanding professional qualifications, international students and graduates often feel that they are not (yet) sufficiently familiar with the German job market and the standards of the application process. Systemic hurdles make the transition to the regional job market even more difficult. This represents a major loss for the German job market and the future development of our society.
Connection to the job market
At the same time, numerous companies and institutions are desperately looking for suitable academic specialists. According to forecasts by the German Economic Institute, the situation is set to worsen in the coming years: the decline in the number of skilled workers in employment could amount to 3.1 million by 2024, which corresponds to 8.8%.
The following applies: international students with a German degree are characterized by a high willingness to learn, pronounced flexibility, adaptability, determination, intercultural competence and multilingualism and are therefore ideal candidates for the regional job market.
Promotion of internationalization
In response to this paradoxical situation, the five colleges and universities in the Rhein-Main region have jointly founded International Career Service , in which they bundle synergies and use their joint expertise to provide international students and students with an international or intercultural background with the necessary know-how for the transition to the regional job market .
By working together with an external advisory board - consisting of high-ranking representatives from business, public administration and politics - and through close exchange with our cooperation partners, we are creating a sustainable structure that acts as a bridge between international graduates and companies.
